With a network of 70+ satellites and continually growing, SkyFi is on a mission to democratize access to satellite imagery so that businesses can solve their toughest problems and individuals can explore their boundless curiosity.

One of the primary goals of SkyFi is to create a platform that offers a wide variety of satellite imaging services. For this to happen, it’s important for us to strategically partner with existing Earth observation (EO) companies that can deliver new capabilities to our end-users.

To help achieve this goal, we partnered with a leading provider of high-resolution satellite imagery, Satellogic!

Meet Satellogic

Founded in 2010 by Emiliano Kargieman, Satellogic is a vertically integrated geospatial company with high-resolution capabilities of multispectral visible imagery, hyperspectral imagery, and full-motion video. Satellogic has 26 satellites in low-Earth orbit and plans to grow its constellation to more than 200 in 2025 to achieve daily global remaps.

“Having a high-quality partner like Satellogic is essential to making a true impact across the globe. We believe their cost-effective and vertically integrated business model is one that will disrupt the industry for many years to come. SkyFi is excited to partner with a company that has a vision for the future that is aligned with ours in making the world a better place for future generations,” says SkyFi CEO, Luke Fischer.

Satellogic’s constellation offers three primary data products:

Multispectral Imagery

Satellogic offers sub-meter multispectral imagery with revisits of specific points of interest several times a day and can capture an equivalent ground sampling distance (GSD) of 70cm. The company is working to increase its daily revisits to up to 28 per day and improve GSD to a 40cm equivalent. These improvements will enable future users to collect real-time data of anywhere in the world on a recurring basis.

Full-Motion Video

Satellogic also provides high-resolution, full-motion video (FMV) – a new capability in the Earth observation industry that adds the ability to understand behavior and track activity over time. The video is taken at a one-meter resolution and can have a duration of up to 60 seconds. This exciting feature is a game changer in the industry as consumers will be able to see and understand event progression, offering insight into economic and natural events as they unfold across the globe.

Hyperspectral Imagery

Hyperspectral sensors capture beyond the visible spectrum with the purpose of detecting objects, identifying materials, or monitoring environmental changes. The human eye sees color in three bands: red, green, and blue. Spectral imaging divides the spectrum into many more bands, many of which are invisible to the human eye. Adding more bands increases the number of applications for the image.

Satellogic’s hyperspectral sensor captures up to 29 bands at 25m resolution over a 125km swath. Hyperspectral data is exciting to many industries as it provides precision in the classification of water and land, generating insights into chemical and molecule processes of soil, crops, aerosols, and effluents.

Simplifying Access to Satellite Imagery

The SkyFi App will seamlessly integrate with Satellogic's cloud-based imagery production line to provide users with an end-to-end imagery experience. By creating a consumer marketplace, SkyFi is the one-stop-shop for Earth observation, with a simple and easy-to-use process that allows you to order archived images or task satellites all from the palm of your hand.

We are looking forward to working with Satellogic to continually disrupt the EO industry and drive positive change by empowering our users with Satellogic’s dynamic products and capabilities. The new satellite capacity offered by Satellogic will increase the portfolio of SkyFi as our clients are data agnostic.

We are excited about this collaboration with Satellogic and look forward to growing our network of commercial satellite operators.
