Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
Hi, I'm Robert! I love dogs, space, and getting outside to exercise!
Tell us about your background before SkyFi
I worked with the largest satellite data provider in the world for nearly four years before I moved to a satellite video provider for a few years. Now, I'm so excited to be at SkyFi!
Why SkyFi?
I have an interesting perspective of selling data to large and small companies over the last several years. All of my clients and myself shared the same frustration, they wanted their data, and I wanted to deliver it to them in a timely manner! SkyFi is solving this lag in the industry, and it's about time!
What role will you play at SkyFi?
I am the Director of Sales and Insights Partnerships.
What are your goals for the next few months to a year?
My goal is to onboard some of the most reputable analytics companies in the industry in order to provide our clients the absolute best insights they can find in the world.
What is your biggest drive for success?
I want to make a difference and also show my value, which makes me strive to be the best I can be. Working at SkyFi, the folks that work here are the best of the best in what they do, and that motivates me to be even better at my role.
What’s one thing that surprised you about SkyFi?
How focused and fast everyone is to achieving a goal.
Can you share a fun fact you have learned only after joining SkyFi?
Several of the leaders in the company flew helicopters in the military.
Can you share your experience with the SkyFi platform with us?
Attaining this type of data so easily is truly a historic moment in the industry. I wish I didn't have the experience of using EO platforms and wonder what the UX would be, but in my opinion it's a all fairly straightforward and intuitive. I can easily find the search box that lets me either add coordinates or an exact address. I've purchased many things using similar interfaces and it all came naturally. There were no snags or lags in the wait time between each page. I chose to see a 75cm image of my home where I grew up in Missouri. Its a great time of year to see the growth of vegetation around the house and I can send it to my family if they want to spruce up the property a little bit and make it look a little better from space. ;)
What would you say to someone who has never heard of SkyFi before reading this article?
Satellite data can improve your business. This data can be applicable to every industry, large or small. I would love to sit down with them and strategize how we can help.
Do you want to share your favorite satellite image with our readers?
This is a video of a rocket launch from a satellite in LEO. Personally, I think this is one of the coolest shots I've ever seen.
