Introducing Custom Shapes and Files for Areas of Interest
At SkyFi, we're on a mission to easify your access to Earth observation data. Today, we are excited to announce a major enhancement to our platform that will take your ability to customize your area of interest (AOI). After several user requests, we are excited to introduce the ability to upload, draw, and download custom areas of interest! This feature opens up a world of possibilities, allowing you to precisely define your area of interest in the way that suits your needs best.
Upload AOIs In KMZ, KML, or Shapefile Formats
With the new custom AOI feature, you are no longer confined to the limitations of rectangular selections. You have the flexibility to upload AOIs in KMZ, KML, or shapefile formats, which means you can more easily integrate SkyFi into your ongoing projects.
Draw Your Vision
In addition to uploading custom AOIs, we are also introducing a powerful drawing tool that allows you to create custom AOIs directly within our web and mobile apps. This allows you to minimize the excess data and capture exactly what you need.
Streamlined Workflow: Download Your Custom AOIs with Ease
We understand that access to your custom AOIs is crucial for your workflow. That is why we have made it incredibly easy to download the AOIs you create or upload. Once you have defined your area of interest, simply click the download button in My Areas to get access to a compatible shapefile.
Diverse Applications, Limitless Potential
The introduction of custom AOIs opens up a world of possibilities for users across various industries. Here are just a few ways you can benefit from this exciting new feature:
Precision in Planning: Architects, urban planners, and infrastructure developers can create highly accurate AOIs that align with their project needs, enabling better-informed decisions and streamlined development
Environmental Monitoring: Environmentalists and conservationists can define specific areas for habitat and ecosystem analysis, tracking changes in vegetation cover, and assessing land use patterns for sustainable conservation efforts.
Emergency Response: During natural disasters, emergency responders can swiftly create AOIs to assess affected areas, aiding in disaster response planning and resource allocation.
